High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. We had a great visit for dinner on 21 December 2014 and returned for kids night on 23 December 2014. Both visits went very well. We really enjoyed the fajitas. Everything seemed really fresh - not freshly thawed like Chilis in Colorado. On our second visit we tried the 2 for $20 deal with the white queso nachos. A bit spicy but very tasty. The 3 cheese chicken penne pasta was also quite good. We found out that kids eat for $0.99 on Tuesdays and they give a military discount on Wednesdays. We will definitely return to this restaurant.

The Old Fashioned Cocktail was bad, bad, bad, they put club soda in it! The cherry limeade was the best I've had in a long time. The 4 cheese Mac n cheese with chicken tenders very good. The service was lacking, somehow our order got bumped behind another so it took 30 mins to get entrées. After I finished my drinks there was no offer for anything else because server didn't return after she checked once.

Disappointed! Went into the store at 12:30AM, as it says they close at 1AM. Only intended to get a dessert but wasn't allowed because we walked into a vacuum and deep cleaning and we were told they were closed! This town is small, we already have so few choices for late night food, now Applebee's starts doing things like this! Very annoying.

Just like so many other Applebee's in the USA. Good food and good service from people that seem to like their jobs. Usually a friendly crowd with a mix of locals and travelers. Once in a while we get a below average meal or a rookie server... but usually we leave with a smile.

It's Apple bees what do you expect. All I say is watch out for the waiter Shawn. He is kind of weird

Mayra was incredibly slow and unattentive. Food took almost 30 minutes. They don't carry Miller light and the server said they don't carry it, even though it is on the menu. Table was a mess. Typical Applebees experience. See attached pics.

What happened? Applebee's menu has changed for the worse. Stopped in for late night appetizers on Friday night (at about 11:30pm). Service was okay. The new menu sucks. The pot stickers used to be a favorite. Now they are tiny, lack filling, and aren't tasty at all. The ribs are full of tiny bones making it nearly impossible to eat. Lots o bone, little meat. The chicken quesadilla was okay, but didn't come with salsa?!?! I asked the waitress and her reply was, "it doesn't." The menu seems to state served with salsa. Maybe they mean the tiny tomato pieces sandwiched in the quesadilla? If so, for shame. Since Applebee's is one of the only places open late in this town, we may be forced to return here one day. I doubt it will be any time soon.

So where do I begin. We love Applebee's back at home, in Georgia. So of course when we come here we expect it to be the same kind of experience. Well we were wrong. The first time we came here and the female waitress was really unattentive, she didn't listen to anything we were asking for. Well I decided to try something new, the 4 cheese Mac and it was such a disappointment. It was dry pasta and the chicken had no type of flavor what so ever. So after waiting forever for our food we were going to be late to our movie. So I just explained get I order something else and get it to go. Well I go back to the normal that I get at every place, which is steak, loaded baked potatoes and broccoli. I always ask for my steak well done, so of course rushing out of there I didn't check my food, I just expected it to be right. Well got to the car and was starting to eat my food, my steak was really pink on the inside. I was flaming. I am 7 months pregnant and now had to go to the movies starving. Okay so I called them, telling them I was bringing my food back because I wanted my money back. I no longer wanted to try anything and be disappointed. Well the manager deny my request and said I can take your name and give you a free meal next time. Well obviously I didn't want to come back. So anyways I went back with some girlfriends because they are crazy over this place. I figured everyone know how to cook wings, so I will try that. No! It was fatty and not good. Our waiter rushed us into everything. She seemed annoyed by my friends asking questions. Of course we had the kids with us and it seems like as more people were arriving, she was rushing us even more. She brought the check out so quick. I just never had a pleasant experience with them. Not to mention every time we came in the tables are really dirty and they don't seem like they care to clean it off either for customer perception. I've had a problem EVERY time we came and I will no longer be coming back. It's so sad because I believe in more than one chance, which we gave this place but I just can't anymore.

Food is low quality. Do yourself a favor and just make something at home. Worst mistake you can make is getting something to go. However, if you like other Applebee's, you probably won't be disappointed.

The Applebee's here used to be half way decent. I have lowered review to 1 star, and really should not get that. I dined here and behind my table was a group of 4 people of whom at least 2 were employees. The entire dinner they cursed, using the f word like it was the only word they knew.. I waited a few minutes they continued to get loud and obnoxious. The manager did nothing. He clearly observed the behavior, joined them several times even. Managment- a joke. Service- mostly decent. Food was good. I left my contact information for the Managment to call me and discuss the situation, they never called.

I love Applebee's but I didnt like this one! My steak was supposed to be cooked medium well but it came out well done border line dry but it was at least seasoned. My husband really hated the salmon. Sadly we won't be going back to this Applebee's.

March 1, 2015 after a long debate we finally returned to Applebees. The apetizers were so-so we had the meatballs (microwaved)/nachos (ugh) and the double crunch wings all in all the sampler sucked waste of menu space. The other issue besides the understaffed overworked waiteress were the 12 uncleaned tables that sat dirty for a good 20-30 mins. A waiteress is cleaning crud off dirty tables than bringing your food out. The manager spent more time socializing than doing "her" job, seems only select folks were granted the pleasure of her company...not to mention the full shots she gave away to the birthday boy and his buddy. The one thing i hate more than anything is the stinky smell of a dirty rag and sitting next to 3 dirty tables for extended periods of time. Applebees....we tried to give you another shot...stick a fork in me...roll me over baste me...were done .....terrible...

You would think Applebee's would produce a delicious steak. I have only eaten here once and i will not return. I ordered my steak mid-rare and it came well done. I informed my waiter that its overcooked. He took it back and brought me a new one that was even more overcooked than the first. I said just forget. Won't be back.

The service was wonderful and very cheerful. They were happy to accommodate dietary differences. (Vegan, vegetarian) Our table had cod fish, BBQ RIBA and sirloin steak. Fish was perfect! Crispy on the outside and tender flaky inside. Steak was good and ribs tender. They switched out French fries for loaded baked potatoes or garlic mashed potatoes. Potatoes were huge and loaded with bacon, butter, sour cream and cheese! Fried green bean appetizers were crisp and served with a honey mustard type sweet sauce and a horseradish ranch type sauce. We all liked the horseradish best. Also had spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips. Always a good choice ! We have eaten here before too and it is always a good meal!

As busy as they were, it seemed organized and courteous in Sierra Vista's Applebees. Food was tasty but I would ask the chef to hold back on salting the spicy fries. Our four meals were delicious with a fairly reasonable price.

Never again will I go here. My husband has come to AZ several times and he remembered why he only went here once. Extremely poor customer service. Not friendly at all. The hostess passed us on to another lady, who basically showed us to the table, dropped the menu on the table, and left.. No greeting whatsoever. Our waitress wasn't too bad. But in the middle of eating, we were asked to close our shades when from wall to wall there were shades but we were the only ones asked to close them "because of the sun".. Never again. It was an awful experience, one I've never encountered in my whole life! I didn't even want to give them a star.

It's your typical chain restaurant. They just do what they can to get by. Food is ok. I think their appetizers are great, but a little overpriced as usual. They lie on their drink menu. I had a bloody mary there with a friend. Definitely not a signature bloody mary as they label it. Did not come with stuffed olives. Just a good place for happy hour at the bar.

We were leery of going to this place because of the poor reviews dated in 2012-2013, however our hotel recommended it to us and said it has changed allot. It has indeed, the service was excellent and the food was fair to good depending on what you ordered. With our meal came a salad and that set the tune for everything as it was great. For a fast meal in a casual setting, Applebees is well worth the trip.

We stopped in for a late lunch during the week, so missed the lunch crowd. The food, beer and atmosphere were good and would have gotten it 3 stars, but the service is what warranted the 4 star rating. Our waitress was Elisa and she was very friendly and attentive, she really went over and above and made our visit enjoyable.

Service was great during my last visit, but I made the mistake of ordering a steak because it's on their under 550 calorie menu. It was terrible, my medium rare was medium well and I overheard the table next to me had a destroyed steak too. Just don't do it, find something else on the menu.

Went for Veteran's Day dinner after Texas Roadhouse refused to honor Veteran's Day. Great reception, personal service from the Manager, friendly and appreciative, and the special menu was actually good stuff, not the cheapest entrees they were just trying to get rid of. Texas Roadhouse should take heed and not treat combat Veterans like dirt bags trying to freeload.

So my 4th time here. my fiancé Ordered food to go by calling in the order and when we went to pick it up, they had not even put our order In...we were furious! I spoke to the manager Mike Clark about how unacceptable that type of service was and he had our food to us in 12 minutes and comped both meals. So best of both good and bad, definitely talk to Brooke the curb side to go trainer when placing your order, she's exquisite. But I was pleased that Mike handled the situation quickly.

I went there this weekend and will certainly never return. Great job by the hostess getting us a bar table in front of the tv for the game we wanted to watch. Little did we know this would also be key the the events that would unravel. My wife got her soup, with a dirty spoon. we waited, and waited for our waitress to come around and check up on us. by the time she did and we got another spoon soup was cold. I ordered bacon on my sliders, they arrived with out any. I was hungry so didnt want to make a big deal about it. this isnt that big of a deal and we pawned it off as a mistake that could happen anywhere........ almost about done with my sliders, and i see the most horrific thing ever. I saw our waitress walk out of the kitchen licking her fingers while holding a tray of food in the other hand. This was bad but got worse. We watched as our waitress went up to the counter and began coughing all over the pitchers of iced tea. My wife was drinking iced tea and needless to say did not ask for a refill. our waitress was obviously sick, and not caring in what direction she was coughing. Althoug she did catch a couple with her hand, this did not make us feel better as she was handling food and drinks. on our way out we asked for the manager and hostess wasnt sure where he was so we let her know about the events. She was also disgusted and promised to talk to the manager. i can not imagine ever going back there again. I cant get over the fact that a manager would let a waitress work under those condiditons, and possibly spread her illness.....

Came here by myself for lunch and to study and sat at the second table from the back. I waited over 15 minutes and no one came to even get a drink order so I asked to speak to a manager. The manager showed up the same time as the server and the manager assured me the sever would take good care of me. I ordered soup and salad combo. It took about 40 minutes to get my food and noticed other tables who had chicken and steaks got their food before I did when I ordered before them. The tomato basil soup was hot and pretty good. The fried chicken salad came with 4 very small cold curdles of fried chicken. I got seconds of the soup and salad and asked if they could put some more chicken on the salad. It came in a timely fashion with extra chicken which was at least warm this time but they forgot the dressing. I had to try and flag someone down to ask them for dressing. I was curious if the manager was going to give me a discount or anything but he didn't. After the server brought the check it took about 15-20 minutes before she came back to pick it up. I was glad I wasn't in a hurry because if I was, I would have been really upset. I guess I would go back again and give them another shot but definitely not when I'm in a time crunch.

Over the years I have been to this location many times. One of the best deals they have is at lunch time. I believe it's from noon to 3pm, unlimited soup and salad for $6.99! Try the Spinich and Shrimp salad. It's got a warm vinegrette and bacon!! Delish! Their chicken tortilla soup is pretty darn good too. The one drawback to this location is service is incredibly slow! You cannot go here and expect to get in and out. It just won't happen. I don't know if it's the kitchen or the servers but it just takes forever. And it's not something that just happened, it's been almost since this location opened. A town that serves a large miltary population really needs to have better customer service at a restaurant that is one of a few choices in terms of sit down places to eat. The other reviews here are pretty spot on. So if you want a nice LONG, leisurely meal, this is the place. If you're in a hurry try the food court in the mall.

There were 4 of us, and we got 2 2 for $20 deals. The 2 for $20 deal encompasses 2 entrees and an appetizer to share from a list of choices. We shared the spinach dip. It was too salty, and the chips were covered in grease. The other couple got the boneless buffalo wings (sweet and spicy), and they were okay. My bf got the chicken tenders and fries, which he said was okay. As for me, i got the steak (the only girl to get steak out of the 3 other guys haha) with mash and veggies. The veggies were not cooked enough, and the mash was too dry! Awful. I asked for medium rare steak and I got well done. Boo. Service was all right. The girls at the bar were nice.

Not bad for this caliber of food. The service was good and all of our needs were taken care of. We went when it was very busy yet our server managed to keep us happy and handled the cashing promptly. I would have given 4 stars except my pasta was limp and overlooked. They pre-portion and microwave their pasta instead of cooking to order and the quality suffers. I would go back but I will not order pasta again.

Very busy friday nite, Started out ordering beers, server stated this location didn't serve Heineken beer and had not in several years. 20 minutes later peps across the resturant were served heinekins beers. Did apps which were good and beer went down great 30 minutes later dinner was served . Daugther inlaw ordered chicken salad, it arrived to the table as if someone in the kitchen had dropped it on the floor, it was gross with a chilled fork slopped in the middle of it. Finger prints all over the fork and plate rim. I ordered the 20.00 rib plate, slaw and fries were tasty, the ribs, well that's a different story, they took them out of the refrigerator and forgot to heat them up, for real.....they were refrigerator cold......mistakes happen, but that's not the end of the story........we confronted the women asst. manager about the problems, instead of smoothing the issues, she argued and said this was the way the salad was served.....really would you eat a salad with finger prints on the plate and the fork slopped ontop of the salad, which also beared finger prints, even after manager admitted the bad mistakes. The daugther inlaw and others all lost their desires to eat, she ordered another beer and opted out of a replacement dinner ......while we weren't looking for anything free, when we got the 80.00 bill, the manager didn't even comp. the secondary beer to the family customer.. The women manager on Friday night oct. 3 at 7:00 pm should be fired, she is not fit for customer service and no way made us feel good while eating here. We are locals and don't recommend this resturant due to poor management response. Steve palm 970-531-0370

Applebee's Bloody Mary with absolute vodka, perfectly blended with our finest call loaded BM mix and garnished with a stuffed green olive, lime wedge, and signature celery stalk. This is what their menu says. Our big glass came out with a watered down looking BM and couldn't taste any vodka. Had 1 little sad looking celery stick in it and that was it. One of the best worst BMs I have ever had. Dont get one! However, their honey BBQ boneless wings are to die for, and for that I give them a 3 star.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, IF WE COULD GIVE THIS LOCATION 0 STARS THEY DESERVE IT: My fiance and I had dinner here and I ordered the Thai Shrimp Salad. Towards the end of our meal he took a bite from my plate and noticed a LONG STRINGY BLACK HAIR wrapped around the shrimp. The manager was called over. She apologized, and offered us more shrimp. Of course, we completely lost our appetites and did not not want anything to do with shrimp. The manager did not even offer to compensate our meal or make any amends to correct that experience. Who offers more shrimp after losing your appetite over shrimp? We ended paying full price for a meal we couldn't finish, and to top it all off, when we EMAILED CORPORATE they never responded. POOR FORM! We have chosen other restaurants over them since then. EAT AT CHILLIS, their customer service is FAR SUPERIOR and the food is significantly better with NO HAIRS to report.

About Applebee's

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
